The Society is organized pursuant to the provisions of the Georgia Nonprofit Corporation Code, as amended, codified at Chapter 3 of Title 14 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated.

Name: The official name of this Society shall be the “Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society.”

Nature: The Society is a non-secret, professional honorary organization focused on career development. Membership therein does not exclude a student from participation in any other activity or organization.

Purpose: The purpose of the Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society is threefold:
- to promote the principles of Dedication, Enthusiasm, and Initiative
- to recognize and encourage academic excellence, in all fields of study
- to educate its membership in the area of career development
